Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapy service offers warm, personalised support to help children feel more confident, capable, and comfortable in their everyday lives. We work alongside families to understand each child’s unique strengths and challenges, creating a supportive plan that feels manageable and meaningful.
We provide support across a range of areas, including fine motor skills (such as handwriting and pencil control), gross motor skills (balance, coordination, and core strength), sensory processing, emotional regulation, and self-care skills like dressing, feeding, and independence in daily routines.
Every service is thoughtfully tailored to your child’s individual needs, with practical, reassuring guidance to support progress at both home and school.

Psychology
Our psychology service offers specialist, evidence-based assessment and therapeutic interventions for children, young people and adults experiencing neurodevelopmental differences, emotional difficulties and behavioural challenges. We provide comprehensive diagnostic assessments (including autism, ADHD and related conditions), formulation-led therapy, trauma-informed care and tailored treatment plans. Our team includes clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists and psychotherapists who work collaboratively with families, schools and other professionals to set practical goals and build everyday strategies. We prioritise clear communication, flexible delivery (in-clinic, school-based or remote) and measurable outcomes, supporting clients to improve wellbeing, strengthen relationships and achieve their potential.
-
An autism assessment is a comprehensive evaluation that explores how an individual thinks, communicates, and experiences the world. It typically involves gathering developmental history, completing standardised assessment tools, and observing social communication, behaviour, and sensory differences. The process is collaborative and tailored to the individual, helping to build a clear understanding of strengths and needs. Where appropriate, a diagnosis can support access to the right support, interventions, and accommodations.
-
Our ADHD assessment is a comprehensive, NICE-aligned evaluation carried out by an experienced multidisciplinary team. It includes a detailed clinical interview, structured rating scales completed by parents and school, direct observation of the child, and a thorough written report with diagnosis and tailored recommendations. Where indicated, we can incorporate cognitive assessment (WISC-V) and occupational therapy as part of an extended package.
-
Cognitive assessments provide a detailed, standardised measure of intellectual ability, identifying an individual's profile of strengths and difficulties across areas including verbal comprehension, reasoning, working memory, and processing speed. At NEST, we use gold-standard Wechsler assessments, the WISC-V for children and young people aged 6–16, and the WAIS-IV for those aged 16 and over. Findings are presented in a comprehensive written report.
-
Our Comprehensive Psychological Assessment brings together three essential elements: a detailed developmental history, a structured assessment of current needs across emotional, behavioural, relational, and educational domains, and a psychological formulation that draws these together into a coherent clinical picture. Rather than simply identifying what difficulties are present, this assessment seeks to understand why, exploring the developmental experiences and environmental factors that shape a child or young person's current presentation. The resulting report provides a robust foundation for care planning, placement decisions, therapeutic intervention, and professional network meetings, and is written to be accessible and actionable.
