NEST Clinical Services provides specialist, embedded clinical support to children and young people living in residential care. Our model recognises the complexity, vulnerability, and high levels of need often present within residential settings, and is designed to support both young people and the systems around them.

We offer tiered packages of clinical support alongside specialist assessment, allowing residential providers to access responsive, proportionate input that aligns with presenting need, risk, and placement stability.

Tiered Packages of Clinical Support

Our tiered model enables support to be stepped up or down over time, ensuring that clinical input remains needs-led, formulation-driven, and sustainable within residential environments.

Packages may include:

• Consultation and formulation to support placement understanding and care planning

• Direct therapeutic and/or occupational therapy input for young people

• Support for staff teams through reflective practice and guidance

• Trauma-informed and neurodevelopmentally informed strategies for day-to-day care

• Liaison with social care, education, and health professionals

• Ongoing review, risk oversight, and adjustment of support

This approach supports placement stability, staff confidence, and consistent, psychologically informed care.

Specialist Assessment

We provide specialist assessments where a deeper understanding of a young person’s presentation is required to inform care, risk management, or longer-term planning.

Assessments are clinically robust, developmentally informed, and sensitive to the context of residential care. They prioritise practical, actionable recommendations that can be implemented by staff teams, rather than assessment in isolation.

Assessments may explore:

• Neurodevelopmental profiles and cognitive functioning

• Sensory processing, emotional regulation, and functional needs

• Mental health and trauma-related presentations

• Behavioural risk, vulnerability, and safeguarding considerations

• Strengths, protective factors, and environmental fit

All assessments include clear written reports, collaborative feedback, and guidance to support implementation within the home.
